The Importance of Working as a Team!

On Friday we talked about how important is it to work as a team (especially when you've got a lot of people in a small space!).
I found this video on Russley Room 7's blog and we thought it summed it up pretty well!
(Well done to "Techofes" too for creating this!)

William's Wordle

For home-learning this week William did a Wordle on fireworks. I really like how he has made some words bigger than others. I think this is very effective.

Visual Language Posters

This term we have been working hard on visual language. We have been looking at the elements of layout, font, handwriting, borders and colour. To showcase all the skills we have learnt this term we have created posters of Kenn Nesbitt's poem "My Teacher Ate My Homework". Below are 5 posters, keep an eye on the blog for even more!

Hamish's Wordle

In our last set of home-learning Hamish used his A+ characteristics and had a go at making a wordle. Hamish's wordle is about sport.

Let us know what you think! Have you ever made a wordle before?

Lucy's Animal Web

Have a look at this great animal web that Lucy made as part of her home-learning!

Are there any other animals that could fit on Lucy's web? Leave us a comment and let us know.

Even more Mathletic magic!

Over the weekend both Brooke and Scott have gained enough points to earn them their bronze certificates. Well done to both of them! I'm very impressed with their hard work and the fact they have continued their Mathletics learning into the weekend.

In other Mathletics news Chrissy has obviously also been working hard over the weekend as she has just overtaken Jesse to be the current Mathletics champ!

Mathletics Magic!!

I must share the fantastic learning that has been going on in Maths class lately!

We started our 2 week trial of Mathletics this Wednesday and already 9 people have achieved their bronze certificates!! What maths superstars!!

We are also keeping track of our points in class so we can all try to be the Mathletics Champ. Over the last two days Rob has been the champ but he has just been overtaken by Jesse! Keep a look out on the blog for any updates on this.

All this fantastic learning makes me really excited! I hope it inspires you to jump on your Mathletics accounts and reach for your bronze certificate!

Georgia L's Snow Day!

I was just looking through my inbox and came across this picture Georgia L sent me a couple of days ago that I had forgotten to put on the blog! (Sorry Georgia!)

Have a look at this great photo of Georgia in the snow.

Scott and Callum's Island

Take a look at this amazing island that Scott and Callum have been working on!

They started it after we watched some of Treasure Island and made up our own islands and stories to go with them.

If you want a closer look come to Room 9 and check it out!

Leave us a comment to let us know what you think!

Photo Home-learning!

As part of home-learning the children needed to send me a favourite photo of theirs via email.

This is the photo that Brooke selected. Maybe she could do a fotobabble on this photo for us sometime?

Let us know if you'd like to hear more about her puppy Costa in a fotobabble.

Georgia's Venn Diagram

Check out Georgia G's Venn Diagram she did as part of her novel study.

This venn diagram is comparing the two main characters from the novel she read called "Time Stops No Mouse" by Michael Hoeye.

This novel is in our school library if you want to check it out! You could ask Georgia G what it is about the next time you see her!

Animal abuse

This video shows how some people abuse their pets. The S.P.C.A. rescues animals under these conditions.

I was looking on youtube for videos of animals being/needing rescue/rescuing for my inquiry.

Warning: this video may scare younger viewers.
